Give help with one thing one person needs

Each case is one item or cost for one person, from £30 to £500. A charity, council, school, housing association or NHS team that already works with them checks it first. You choose a case and tell us. Then you pay the sponsor or the shop for the item, never the person.

We're starting with a small pilot

Giving121 is in a small pilot. We're signing up the first sponsors now, and we check each case before it goes up. That's why there's only an example and some samples here today.

Leave your name and email and we'll tell you when new cases are listed. Nothing to pay, and you can ask us to stop at any time.

We'll only use your email to tell you about new cases.

How cases are checked

1

A sponsor confirms the need

Every live case comes from a charity, council, school, housing association or NHS team that already works with the person. They confirm the item and the price.

2

We check the sponsor

Once, before their first case. We look the organisation up on the Charity Commission, Companies House or gov.uk, then call its main number.

3

Proof after funding

The sponsor sends a receipt or a photo of the item once the person has it. We pass it on to the giver.

Questions givers ask

One item or cost for one person, from £30 to £500. Things like work tools, a school bag, a cooker or train fares. Each case has a price link or a quote. We don't list cash, debts or rent arrears.

A sponsor that already works with the person confirms the need and the price. We check each sponsor organisation once, with a register lookup and a call to its main number.

You fill in a short form. You don't pay anything at that stage. We reply within 1 working day and put you in touch with the sponsor by email. You pay the sponsor or the shop, and the sponsor sends a receipt once the person has the item.

No. You pay the sponsor organisation or the shop for the item on the listing. It never goes to the person as cash, and Giving121 never holds it.

Not during the pilot. One giver funds the whole case, so a case is either open or funded.

You get your money back (from the sponsor, or the shop if you paid it), or with your OK it goes to the same person's next listed need.
